Information you choose to provide
If you email I’d Buy That, the publication receives the information included in your message, such as your name, email address, and the content you send.
If you subscribe to the Friday Note, I’d Buy That stores the email address you provide, the signup source, your subscription status, and signup timestamps so the newsletter can be delivered and the list can be maintained.
Information collected automatically
The site’s hosting and security providers may process basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, requested pages, and timestamps to deliver the site, prevent abuse, and understand performance.
With your permission, the site may use Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager to measure page views, referral sources, device and browser information, approximate location, reading engagement, searches, newsletter signups, pin downloads, and clicks on affiliate, retailer, and other outbound recommendation links. I’d Buy That does not send the text of a site search or a subscriber’s email address to these analytics tools.
With your permission to use marketing tools, the site may also load the Pinterest Tag and Meta Pixel. These services can measure visits and newsletter leads connected with Pinterest or Meta campaigns and may use their own identifiers to provide campaign reporting or audience features.
Cookies and your privacy choices
Optional analytics and marketing tools are set to denied by default and are not loaded until you choose to allow them. You may choose essential services only, analytics without marketing tags, or all available tools.
Your choice is stored in your browser so the site can remember it. Use the Privacy choices button in the footer to review or change that choice. If you withdraw permission, the site updates Google consent settings, removes optional first-party cookies it can identify, and reloads the page when necessary to stop previously loaded tags.
Analytics and advertising providers
Google, Pinterest, and Meta operate under their own terms and privacy policies. Data availability, retention, deletion controls, and cross-device or cross-service processing are governed in part by the settings of those accounts and services.
I’d Buy That uses analytics to understand which stories are read, which recommendations are opened, and where the site needs improvement. It uses marketing tags only to measure or improve campaigns. It does not sell a newsletter subscriber’s email address.
Affiliate links and external sites
Some links may lead to retailers or other websites. Those services have their own privacy practices. Clicking an affiliate link may allow the retailer or affiliate network to recognize that the visit came from I’d Buy That so a commission can be attributed.
How information is used
Information may be used to send the Friday Note to subscribers, manage subscription preferences, respond to messages, operate and secure the site, correct errors, understand which pages are useful, comply with legal obligations, and maintain records related to editorial or business inquiries.
Your choices
